Air Canada set to layoff 2000

Air Canada is set to lay off 2000 people. An arbitrator has been appointed to decide the exit package terms for Air Canada employees who lose their jobs in the up coming cuts. The Arbitrator Brian Keller was appointed by Canada’s Labor Minister. Mr. Keller a former vice-chairman of the Ontario Labor relation Board is focused on making a decision in the next 30 days. Air Canada announced in June that it would eliminate 2000 jobs and reduce its capacity by 7%. The cut back are due to fuel prices and the slowing travel industry. www.EmploymentCrossing.com
