They originally made a song called AMILLY, short for A MILLIONAIRE, and it was exclusively released SUMMER 2007 on DJ Wreckineyes' Perishable Fame mixtape in Atlanta. Later that year, LIL WAYNE used the AMILLY beat specifically as a freestyle song for mixtape PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY, which explains why there is no concept behind the "freestyle". Because he said "C3" in the intro, it was mistakenly promoted as a session for THE CARTER 3 album. Because of LIL WAYNE's popularity and the majority not knowing that it was a CHARLIE MACKENROE song first, some mixtape DJs promoted the "freestyle" as LIL WAYNE's single, A MILLIE. When the instrumental was released, many artists from JADAKISS to LIL MAMA made their own version of A MILLIE (spelling it like LIL WAYNE's title instead of CHARLIE MACKENROE's) Some have complain that A MILLIE does not sound like a single, and they are correct because IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE A SINGLE.
