Get smart fluke: film turns upside down and plays backwards

During the 6/20/08 midnight showing of Get Smart, about an hour into the movie, the reel changed over and started playing the film upside down AND backward, audio and all. It took us a while to tell the management because it was entertaining enough to let it run for a little bit. i captured about 3 minutes of about 8 minutes of backward film. We were told we could either leave now and get a rain check, or continue watching the movie after they fixed it and then get the rain check. most people left but a few stayed for the remainder of the film (they couldn't start it right back where it went wrong so we missed all that had been turned upside down). Unfortunately, leaving the theater room, we discovered the theater was empty save for a few cleaning crew members and no one there to give us rain checks. We spent a good 20-30 minutes wondering around trying to look for the managers office before we were able to call the office and get the last guy in there out to give us our rain checks. it was an adventure to be sure.
