Goldfrapp appeared for the first time at the Royal Albert Hall as they headlined Tuesday nights (March 28) charity concert. The group appeared with groups Starsailor and Antony and the Johnsons at the Royal Albert Hall in central London last night in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust, produced by music legend and patron Roger Daltrey. It was in remembering a friend of singer Alison Goldfrapp's who was struck by the disease in her teens, that prompted the her to accept Daltrey's offer to participate in this years event. "We haven't been involved before, it was something we were asked to do and of course it seemed like a very good idea, something that we wanted to do, we heard about it, read about it and it sounded like a very positive..something I suppose where you can see the results very quickly, which I think is always very encouraging when you read about a charity when something instantly has a result and an effect. So, yeah, it seemed very appealing," said Alison Goldfrapp. Alison Goldfrapp added that she was returning to the Royal Albert Hall for the first time since her childhood when she went with her parents "every year" for Christmas carols. Asked if performing at this famous London venue held any cache for her, she replied, "My mum would like it, if I told her I was performing in the Royal Albert Hall. She's think that was very posh.
