Upper class beauty Janet Henry (Vernoica Lake) pays a visit to tough guy Ed Beaumont (Alan Ladd) in director Stuart Heisler's 1942 adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's novel. A remake of a 1935 version starring George Raft, Edward Arnold and Claire Dodd. Famed Japanese director Kurosawa based his 1961 classic Samurai movie Yojimbo on this version of the Glass Key.
